Give the answer, clearly enough to be quoted.
AEO is the on-site half of AI Optimization. It is the work of turning your website into something an answer engine can read, understand and safely repeat.
Written for a reader, readable by a machine.
An answer engine is not browsing your site the way a customer does. It is looking for a statement it can stand behind. If the answer to "how much does a water heater replacement cost in Provo" is somewhere on your site but wrapped in three paragraphs of positioning language, it is effectively not there.
AEO does not mean writing for robots. It means writing the way a good technician explains something: the answer first, the detail after, no padding in between. That happens to be exactly what a model can use.
What AEO involves.
Question-shaped content
We write pages around the questions people actually ask, in the words they use, with the answer stated in the first sentence rather than four paragraphs in.
Extractable structure
Clear headings, short answer blocks, tables where a table is the right shape, and lists that hold one idea each. Formatting that a parser can follow without guessing.
Structured data
Schema markup that tells a machine what your business is, which services you offer, where you offer them, and how the pages relate to each other.
Fact hygiene
Hours, service areas, licence details, contact information and service names stated once, correctly, and matching everywhere else they appear.
Technical access
Making sure the crawlers used by AI systems can reach and render your content, and that nothing important only exists inside a script or an image.
Depth on the jobs you sell
Pages that go far enough into a specific job that they are worth quoting, rather than thin service pages that say the same thing as everyone else in your trade.
